Community Ministries
Community Ministries
Hatfield Christian Church encourages its members to pursue God’s purpose for their lives. Some members have pursued God’s vision to the point of launching ministries that reach into the surrounding communities to express the love of God in varying ways. There are 23 independent ministries that we support.
We provide pastoral, strategic and governance-infrastructure support for these ministries. This support can take the form of:
- spiritual mentoring and prayer support to ministry leaders
- assistance with strategic planning, infrastructure planning and practical help
- assistance with accessing funding for scale-up activities
- advertising and increasing awareness of the ministry and its projects, and
- facilitating the recruitment and placement of volunteers to support the work of the ministry.
Some of the social issues addressed by our community ministries include:
- adult basic education and training
- agricultural development
- child-headed households
- early childhood development
- emergency relief
- enterprise development
- environmental issues
- health promotion
- holistic community development
- job creation
- offender rehabilitation
- orphans and vulnerable children
- people infected and affected by HIV/AIDS
- people with disabilities

- promotion of justice
- school leadership development
- skills development
- sports development
- strengthening of families
- substance abuse and addictions
- systems development
- the elderly
- women and children at risk
- youth development, and
- youth in conflict with the law.
